What you'll do
- Build relationships with customers in assigned territory alongside Account Executives
- Move quickly from customer problem to working prototype by writing code and demos
- Advise customers on architecture, design and implementation for platform adoption
- Author reference architectures, how-tos and demo applications
- Lead workshops, seminars and meet-ups for the regional community
Requirements
- 2+ years of technical experience in a customer-facing solutions engineering role
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent work experience
- Builder mindset with hands-on prototyping and comfort using AI-assisted development tools
- Hands-on experience with Python, Java, or Scala, and proficiency in SQL
- Ability to interact with customers confidently and professionally
- Meet technical training and role-specific outcomes within 6 months of hire
- Based in New York City (Midtown)
Nice to have
- Experience with Big Data technologies (Spark, Hadoop, Kafka) and architectures

Solutions Engineer

This will be an in-office role and candidates must be based in our New York City (Midtown location). Relocation assistance will not be provided.

The impact you will have:
- Form successful relationships with customers throughout your assigned territory, providing technical and business value to Databricks customers in collaboration with Account Executives.
- Operate as an expert in AI and data analytics to excite customers about Databricks. You will develop into a ‘champion’ and trusted advisor on multiple areas of architecture, design, and implementation to lead to the successful adoption of the Databricks data and AI platform.
- Adopt a builder-first approach: move quickly from customer problem to working prototype by writing code, building demos, and creating reusable assets that accelerate customer outcomes.
- Use AI tools to increase your productivity and drive innovation.
- Scale best practices in your field and support customers by authoring reference architectures, how-tos, demo applications, and help build the Databricks community in your region by leading workshops, seminars, and meet-ups.
- Grow your knowledge and expertise to the level of a technical and/or industry specialist.
What we look for:
- The ideal candidate has 2+ years of technical experience in a customer-facing solutions engineering role.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent experience through work experience
- Demonstrates a builder mindset: preference for hands-on prototyping and learning-by-doing, with comfort using AI-assisted development tools to move faster
- Hands-on experience with Python, Java, or Scala, and proficiency in SQL
- Experience with Big Data technologies (Ex: Spark, Hadoop, Kafka) and architectures is a plus
- Aptitude to interact with customers confidently and professionally
- Can meet expectations for technical training and role-specific outcomes within 6 months of hire
